About Pompeii Tours from Sorrento
An independent comparison of the bookable Pompeii tours from Sorrento — the ones that leave from the station on Piazza de Curtis or from Piazza Angelina Lauro and reach the Archaeological Park in under an hour. We read tour listings, the park's own ticket pages and the published transport tariffs, and we put them next to each other. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours, run coaches, hold bookings or take payments. The listings sit on the Pompeii tours comparison, and every figure on this site carries the date it was last read.
Why this site exists
Sorrento is forty minutes and €2.80 from the gate at Porta Marina, which makes it the one base where doing the day alone costs about €25.60 — and where a guided tour has to justify itself against a number that small. Almost nothing ranking for "Pompeii tours from Sorrento" prints that number correctly. The fare is quoted as €2.60 or as €3.30, which is the Naples band; the journey is called thirty minutes when every service on the timetable takes thirty-nine or forty; the Campania Express is still recommended for an autumn it will not run, because EAV suspends it from 1 October 2026; and the entry ticket is still quoted at €18 or €19, eight months after the park split it into Pompeii+ at €25 and Pompeii express at €20.
None of this is hidden. It is on pompeiisites.org, on unicocampania.it, on eavsrl.it and parconazionaledelvesuvio.it, and in the operators' own inclusion lists. Reading those sources and putting the result next to the price is the entire job of this site.
Where the facts come from
Tour prices, durations, ratings, review counts, inclusions, minimum group sizes and age limits are read off each operator's own listing on the date shown, in US dollars, and every tour page carries the same fields in the same order. Tour listings checked: 30 August 2026, when several were showing a price below the list figure.
Ticket grades, prices, opening hours, the daily admissions cap and the time-slot quotas come from the Archaeological Park of Pompeii's own site, pompeiisites.org. The Sorrento fare band and its price come from the Unico Campania fare finder and the consortium's published Schema Tariffario; the departure times come from EAV's own L1 timetable, valid from 28 March 2026; the Campania Express suspension from EAV's August 2026 notice; the crater ticket, the booking rules and the closure rules from the Vesuvius national park's own pages; and the Herculaneum tariff from ercolano.cultura.gov.it. Each is dated where it appears.
Where an operator states something inconvenient in its own words — that a guide may not enter the Vesuvius park, that the Pompeii Plus ticket is not included, that fifty minutes of the day are spent in a shopping centre — we quote the wording rather than smooth it over. Review quotes carry the reviewer's name, country and travel month exactly as published.
What we do not do
We have never claimed to run these tours or to have a desk in Sorrento. There is no invented guide persona on this site and no photograph of a founder. What there is instead is a date on every number and a named source for every rule.
We also do not print a figure we could not check. Where a listing says nothing — the grade of ticket, the guided duration, the group size — the tour page says "Not stated on the listing" rather than filling the gap with a guess.
How the site earns
Links to tours are affiliate links. If you book through one, the platform may pay us a commission at no additional cost to you: the price you pay is the platform's price, whether you arrive through this site or not. Links to the park's own ticket office and to the Vesuvius national park are plain links and always will be — nothing on pompeiisites.org, vivaticket or parconazionaledelvesuvio.it carries a tracking parameter from us.
Commission does not decide the order of the comparison table or which tour is named as our pick. The train half-day named as our pick is one of the cheapest listings here and earns us less than any of the full-day coaches, and the do-it-yourself route by train, which earns us nothing at all, is set out in full on the homepage and in its own guide.
Corrections
Prices move, trains get suspended, houses inside the site close for conservation. If something here has gone stale, tell us and we will re-check it against the source and change the date on the page.
